As a Registered Nurse, I'm dedicated to providing quality first aid training in Perth, Western Australia. I offer accredited First Aid and CPR courses as a co-provider with Immediate Response First Aid, an RTO in Queensland. I deliver their certified training materials to ensure you receive the skills and nationally recognised qualifications required for employment. This can be completed in a group setting, either a work or community venue, or an individuals home, depending on the individuals need!
Course Information
Online Theory
Online theory MUST be completed prior to attending practical sessions. Please ensure you have your certificate of completion, either hard copy or on your device to show the trainer. On enrolment, you will be required to provide a USI number (Unique Student Identifier) and date of birth. If you do not have a USI number you can obtain one at www.usi.gov.au
HLTAID009 Provide CPR - 2 hours face to face practical session
This course is recommended for anyone who wants to learn basic CPR skills or complete their annual refresher. Learners must 18 years of age and over.
At the completion of this course each participant will be able to:
- Recognise and respond to an emergency situation
- Communicate details of the incident - includes completing an incident report
- Respond to signs of an unconscious patient
- Indications for CPR
- Demonstrate the use of the emergency action plan - DRSABCD
- Provide effective CPR - Adult/Child/Infant
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid - 4 hours face to face practical session
Covers all the necessary skills and knowledge required to provide first aid responses, life support, management of casualty(ies), at the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. Incorporating the content of units HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support. This course is recommended for anyone who wants to be prepared in case of an emergency and has no prior knowledge or, for those looking to refresh their skills (3 year validation). Learners must 18 years of age and over.
At the completion of this course each participant will be able to:
- Explain the legal and social responsibilities of a first aider
- Determine first aid facilities and training requirements
- Assess an emergency situation
Administer first aid for:
- burns and electric shock
- choking/severe airway obstruction
- bronchospasm (asthma)
- eye and soft tissue injuries
- venomous bites and stings and allergic reactions/anaphylaxis
- spinal injuries, fractures, sprains and strains
- external bleeding
- shock
- drowning/near drowning
- seizures
- head, chest and abdominal injuries
- temperature extremes
- maintain the airway, breathing and circulation of an unconscious casualty
- operation of an AED
- determine principles for the assessment and movement of the sick and injured and first aid reporting requirements
